There was a 35-year-old female patient who had been diagnosed alcoholic liver disease a year ago. In March 29th, 2010, she had to go to the emergency room, with a symptom of hematemesis. Central venous catheter insertion was tried at the right shoulder, but it was failed. Next day, weakness and sensory loss on her right upper extremity was developed. In CT scan, there was a pseudoaneurysm developed from right subclavian artery. In April 12th, the electrodiagnostic study was done. The electrodiagnostic impression was right severe incomplete brachial plexus injury at whole trunk level. Brachial plexus injuries due to iatrogenic subclavian artery pseudoaneuysm caused by central venous catetherization are very rare. We experienced the case of brachial plexus injury caused by subclavian pseudoaneurysm as a complication of subclavian vein catheterization.
